2 New Tools to Help with Registration and Degree Planning

If you didn’t read this month’s IT Connect News, you may not have heard about 2 new tools that you might find useful:  Notify.UW and MyPlan.

Want to receive a text message or email when space becomes available in a course during the quarter registration process? A new, free tool called Notify.UW does just that. It’s integrated into the UW Time Schedule and MyUW and will help UW students register for high-demand courses as well as collect valuable information that can be used to adjust course offerings. Watch the “how-to” video and then subscribe. Notify.UW is a collaborative effort of UW-IT and the Office of the University Registrar.

UW students can more easily plan for class registration using new features recently added to MyPlan, the online academic planning tool for students and their advisers. Now you can get real-time seat availability for each section and view your plan one quarter at a time, displaying sections from the current Time Schedule that you can easily add or delete. Coming next: Notification of suspended or withdrawn sections, plus the ability to check your plan against degree requirements, including running a degree audit report in MyPlan.
