Travel Grants for Study Abroad Related to Jewish Studies

The Stroum Jewish Studies Program is pleased to offer three (3) merit-based Travel Grant opportunities ($1,750 each) to currently enrolled University of Washington Undergraduate students who plan to study abroad at an institution of higher learning or approved study-abroad program during summer 2013 and/or the 2013/2014 academic year as part of their coursework or research in Jewish studies.  Students do not need to be Jewish Studies majors or minors to apply.

Travel Grant award recipients are asked to contribute one blog post about their travel experiences to submit for publication on

To apply, please submit the following to the Catalyst dropbox here (UW NetID required):

  • A cover sheet with name, student number, phone number, postal and email addresses.
  • A 1-2 page description of how studying abroad will enhance your program of study and help you achieve your goals
  • Transcript (unofficial accepted)
  • One letter of recommendation from a UW professor on letterhead with original signature.

Deadline to apply is Monday, April 15th at 5 pm. Award decisions will be made by early May.
