Exploration Seminar: “Russian Talk: Communication, Culture, and Health in Sochi, Russia”

Highlights of the Seminar:
–Gain research experience while learning Russian
–Learn about Russian ways of talk in real settings
–Observe Russian teacher-student and doctor-patient face-to-face interaction
–Get familiar with discourse theory, non-verbal communication & conversation analysis
–Work in team with Sochi college and high school students
–Earn 5 UW credits

The students with little or no knowledge of Map of SochiRussian will work with interpreters. One of our tasks will be to explore the specifically Russian ways of communicative behavior.
