If you have linguistic research you’d like to present at a public venue (for example, your departmental Honors research), the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium is a great opportunity to present your results – it’s local (less costly than traveling to a conference elsewhere), geared towards undergraduates, and the Undergraduate Research Program (URP) offers a number of workshops to help you prepare if this is your first conference (info sessions, abstract writing workshops, Powerpoint workshops, practice sessions, etc.) URP also has advisers who are happy to discuss any questions you may have about the Symposium. This kind of experience looks great on your CV if you are thinking about applying to graduate school. For more details, see the official announcement below.
Deadline to apply to present your research will be February 24 by 5pm.
Present! * Volunteer! * Attend!
Applications will be open mid month. In the meantime, sign up for a Symposium Info Session and Abstract Writing Workshop (info. and registration below) to help prepare you for the event!
